The message was relayed by Arwel Oropesa that Leticia Relampagos Palaruan has been shot. No further details yet have emerged on the incident.
I tried digging up the Net and these are the information found on Sunstar Davao issue dated January 17 2005 & Sunstar Davao issue dated July 09, 2004. We don't know if this is related to the incident.

Leticia Relampagos Palaruan also known sa 'Letty' or 'Ityang' was shot to death by 3 unkown perpetrators in her residence in Juna, Matina,Davao city. She died instantly after suffering several gunshot wounds in her body last 21 July around 11pm.her body finally rested at Orchard Road memorial.Police are exerting all efforts in hunting the gunmen.Initial findings revealed that it is a plain robbery.
